What is Healing?

At times, we are confused by what exactly is healing and how can healing be achieved. That said, we do know that healing implies some form of positive change(s). Healing is one of those things that is a part of everyone’s life that we often conceptualise or understand differently.


To heal means to restore to health, to mend physically, mentally, emotionally or even to return to spiritual wholeness. At times, healing is defined as the process of bringing together aspects of one’s mind-body-spirit; which is, to realign them back into balance.


So, if someone has a fractured bone, to heal is to mend the bone back to its original state, or its initial healthy condition. When one feels stuck, to heal is to allow or assist the person to move on, i.e. to get unstuck. From feeling stressed out to being relax. Therefore, if one feels powerless, to heal is to be empowered. The list goes on and on. So, to me, healing helps a person get from his/her current state to the desired state, be it in mind, body (physical) and/or spirit.


At the most fundamental level, everything is energy. Energetics or Energy Healing, works on our body or energy fields around us to remove blocks and foster the flow. It is a holistic practice that activates the body’s subtle energy systems, breaking down energetic blocks, in order to stimulate the body’s inherent ability to heal itself.


There are many types of energy healing modalities (methods/techniques) around the world. For example, Acupuncture, Aromatherapy, Ayurveda, Hypnosis, Meditation, Pellowah, Qigong, Reiki etc. They all have a single aim, to align one’s mind, body, meridians, spiritual self and vibrations back to balance.


The healer is merely the “vessel and conduit” of the Universal Healing Energies. The Healer facilitates the channelling of the loving and healing energy to the patient / client so that "inner healing" can restore the mind, body and spirit / soul to their harmonious state. A Healer is actually not just someone whom you go to for repetitive healing / maintenance healing. A Healer is someone who can trigger within you, your own ability to heal yourself.

At times, instant results occur during and right after the healing session. More often than not, the improvement takes effect progressively in days, weeks and sometimes even months thereafter.
