In this blog, let’s explore how some of these tools can be utilized in our everyday lives. Five Arts existed thousands of years ago. Some of the more inquisitive minds reading this blog might start to question, how then would an Art created thousands of years ago be still applicable today?
Answer: We pick and choose what suits. In addition, we improve on the aged old principles and customised them to suit our modern day needs and requirements. Over time, Masters of Chinese Metaphysics have adapted the art when they pass their knowledge and wisdom down to their disciples or the masses through books and their teachings. Therefore, the principles may be a few thousand years old, the applications are definitely current and updated.
For example, Bazi, considered as the Art of Destiny Analysis, helps to provide an overview of one’s personality structure. The analysis is able to illustrate one’s natural behaviours, strengths and weaknesses as well as skills that suit the person’s character. This Art considers that the blueprint of a person’s gifts, skillsets, lessons and journey can be gleaned from his / her date and time of birth, likened to reading a person’s life map.
That said, it does not mean all aspects are cast in stone. Knowing one’s strengths, weaknesses and journey does not automatically make a person stronger or weaker or wiser. It is having the wisdom and motivation to take action which makes the difference, i.e. build on one’s strengths, reduce / eliminate one’s weaknesses, acquire the necessary skills that is aligned to one’s destiny so that one can walk a smoother journey that is aligned to one’s life path.
If we can have a glimpse of our destiny, we empower ourselves with the information. We would then be able to plan, learn and evolve to be a better person in terms of our own personal well-being, relationships and wealth.
“Vision gets the dreams started. Dreaming employs your God-given imagination to reinforce the vision. Both are a part of something that I believe is absolutely necessary to building a life of a champion, a winner, a person of high character who is consistently at the top of whatever game he or she is in.”
~ Emmitt Smith, ex-NFL Professional American Football Rusher
Destiny Analysis for the Business Owners / Competitive Advantage
“The battlefield is a scene of constant chaos. The winner will be the one who controls that chaos, both his own and the enemies.”
~ Napoleon Bonaparte, French Military Leader, Emperor of the French
“If you know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.”
~ Sun Tzu, Chinese Military Strategist
The pearls of wisdom from renowned military strategists such as Sun Tzu and Napoleon have long been applied in business. It’s all about understanding oneself and exploiting the competitor’s weaknesses. According to Mark McNeilly, business consultant and author of two books related to Sun Tzu’s Art of War, in order to emerge as a victor in the challenging business environment, one requires a deep understanding of their competitors’ strategies, capabilities, thoughts and desires; as well as similar depth of knowledge of one’s own strengths and weaknesses.
Hence, it should not be surprising that some business owners apply Destiny Analysis to understand themselves and their competitors so that they gain the added advantage in their business dealings.
Destiny Analysis for the Employers / Business Owners
Some organisations go through the elaborated process of telephone screening after the candidate’s resume has been shortlisted, to comprehensive psychometric testing and to conducting multiple interviews before hiring the person. While some organisations cherry pick the processes most suited to them.
At times, certain business owners apply Bazi as one of their final hurdles before deciding whom out of the final 2 candidates would be most aligned to their organisation’s values and also the hiring manager’s requirements. They assessed and matched the inborn characteristics and hidden talents of the potential employees to their CVs, Psychometric Test results and interview outcomes to obtain a holistic view prior to making their hiring decisions.
Similarly, these employers also utilized Destiny Analysis to help them determine whom, amongst their top performing employees, to promote, all things being equal. These owners evaluate which of their key staff members possibly have a better capacity to add more value to the owner’s organisations. In short, which of these employees are aligned as well as able to contribute more to the company’s growth and objectives.
Destiny Analysis for the Employees
By understanding one’s good days and productive months, employees can plan to carry out their day to day tasks better. If they have a choice, they can opt to choose better days to present their projects, to ask for a raise, to see a major client so on and so forth. By understanding that some days are not such good days when matched with their own Destiny Chart, they can choose not to make major decisions related to their career, projects or meetings whenever possible.
Just imagine for a moment.
If you have a choice to contact / reply to your customer on a neutral day and a better day to facilitate a deal to be negotiated, which day would you choose? If you are aware that you can be the star employee in the Finance Department, would you apply for a job in the Marketing Department if you have a double major in Finance/Marketing? If you are an operational staff, with the gift of the gab, would you consider moving into a Sales Role where you can hone your skills and be paid more because with the relevant training, you would be hitting targets and getting more commissions? The list goes on.
At times, some employees actually go a step further by seeking for a consult to help them decide if they should take up a transfer, relocate or stay put at their present roles while planning for their next more beneficial move, either up the career ladder or out to a more lucrative and fulfilling role in a different company.
Destiny Analysis for Children (Parents)
“Every parent wants to do what’s best for their child. Whatever I can afford, I’m going to get my kid the best education I can get.”
~ Michael Moore, Activist
Some forwarding-thinking parents sought help from Destiny Consultants to find out what are the best options to groom their children. They might notice that their son is agile and good in sports, whereas their daughter a bookworm. By combining their own observations with the confirmation on their children’s hidden talents through Destiny Assessment, the parents have better peace of mind in guiding and supporting their children excel in areas beneficial to their children. These parents believed building on the child’s inborn potential allows them to have the best head start, to achieve maximum returns and success in life.
Destiny Analysis for School Leavers
“You were born to win, but to be the winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.”
~ Zig Zaglar, Motivational Speaker
Destiny Analysis can also uncover one’s career interests or a career that supposedly can allow the person to achieve his / her potentials. Instead of a Career Interest Test or equivalent, an assessment of the school leaver’s natal chart would present the hidden talents of the student. They might already be present at a young age or could still be latent. Knowing this could perhaps help the teenager decide which university degree to go for; or even to make a conscious decision to acquire related skills in areas which are aligned to not only his/ her interests but also talents and in born capabilities.
Climbing the Corporate Ladder vs Starting a Business
“A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.”
~ Larry Bird, ex-NBA Professional Basketball Player of Boston Celtics
“Employee of the month is a good example of how somebody can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.”
~ Demetri Martin, Actor / Musician / Stand-up Comedian
“Should I quit my job and start my own business?”
This is quite a common question for someone who has been in employment for more than 10 years. Perhaps they have acquired sufficient skills, experiences, networks and contacts to embark on the next stage of their career or working life.
Perhaps they have been disenchanted with their jobs and believed that it’s time for them to consider other options. No matter what the reasons are, carrying out a destiny consult would be helpful to provide some form of clarity, be it to continue with their jobs, to change their roles within the company, to consider a different company, to acquire skills so that they could be their own boss one day, work full time and start their business part time or even take the leap of faith, quit and start their own business(es).
A combination of different CM Tools
In different scenarios, the consultant may choose to combine different Chinese Metaphysics tools to assist their clients. In such cases, they most probably diagnose some concerns and utilise an energy forecasting tool to come up with solutions and suggestions for their clients in order to provide an added layer to their assessments. There have been much positive feedback that such method helped guide the persons to focus and also assist to provide some clarity and directions in their decision making process.
A client might initially just requested for a Forecast but their questions could perhaps be answered better if their Destiny Charts were considered concurrently. At times, a Forecast or a Destiny Reading on their own, would suffice in order to provide the answers those clients were looking for, with no extra need to over complicate matters.
Therefore, there’s no one set way to approach a challenge, and as mentioned in my earlier blog, there’s also not one more superior tool than the other. It all depends on what is required and what gives the best assessment in relation to the questions and challenges faced by the client at a certain point in time.
Take for example, a consultant uses a Forecasting Tool to assist the client to find out if the actions one has planned, could get the results / outcome one intended. At times, the tool is also used to determine what possible actions one has to take, to meet one’s goals / intended outcome. If there is a mismatch between the actions and the intended outcome, the consultant can deploy a method to execute certain actions strategically to achieve the results. Strategic Execution (StratEx) means taking necessary actions to adopt strategies that can allow one to achieve the outcome/ results one wants.
All in all, at the end of the day, it is the result that matters. Leave the application / tools to the consultant :)
